Easy as pie!

This semi-homemade dessert is so easy it shouldn't even be called a recipe. All items are from Trader Joes.

1 tart - found in the bakery section
1 tub of mascarpone
4 tbsp lemon curd
Fruit. I've used blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries

Add lemon curd to mascarpone tub and stir. Spread the frosting over the tart evenly. Arrange fruit in star shape, or whatever design you choose. A "homemade" patriotic dessert in minutes!

Jack's first race!

Jack had his first race ever on Sunday. TJ runs the Carytown 10k every year, but Jack made his debut running in the 1/4 mile. We were so proud. After he finished he said he was ready for his next one! The pouring rain didn't stop his determination!  The only issue was that Jack said he got a "cramp in his boobie" half way through! I can't wait to see them at next year's race!

A day in the life of a pregnant tired lady

5:30 am- alarm goes off. Hit snooze at least 2 times.

5:50 am- roll out of bed, literally. My belly is getting so big I am like a helpless turtle stuck on its back.

5:50-6:30 am-shower, dress, makeup, hair, and pack lunches.

6:30 am- wake up the beast, aka Jack. He's like a teenager. 5 more minutes mom! Dress him, get breakfast, brush teeth and out the door to daycare.

Check out this drawing Jack made for me at school:

7:00 am- drop my big boy off at school, grab coffee or a smoothie (whatever baby g is craving at the time!) and head through rush hour traffic to make it to work by 7:30 am.

7:30 am - 5:15pm work my tail off helping members, opening accounts, auditing accounts, IRA's, processing ATM's Ect Ect Ect. That's almost 10 hours at work for this pregnant mama. I'm exhausted by lunch time, but still have 6+ hours to go.

Just helping members:

5:15- 6:15 pm- drive like a crazy person, zipping through lanes to make it to daycare before they close!

6:15-8:30 pm- come home, straighten up the house, make dinner, bathe jack, dress him, play with him, set clothes out for the next day, fill out any daycare paperwork, make to do lists.

Jack's favorite spot before bed:

By 8:30 jack is in bed and I am not far behind. Third trimester feels like narcolepsy to me. I could fall asleep anywhere/anytime. By the time I wash my face and brush my teeth, I am out in like 5 minutes.

Sunday

We had the type of Sunday that started off with jack climbing in bed and asking for pancakes at 630am. With tj still snoring away, I got up with my little early bird. We accomplished some morning chores and we all headed out to my favorite coffee spot. There we sipped slowly on our chai tea and americano, watched Jack inhale a chocolate muffin, read the paper, and watched the baby make by belly go crazy. Slow Saturday's are the best ones. A chance to regroup for the upcoming crazy week and get some quality family time in.

Pregnancy progression

It's crazy to think that in just a few short months I'll be in my cozy nook of their bedroom, nursing and cuddling our new baby.

Female bodies are so amazing. God gives you the gift of carrying a miracle for nine short months. Moms get to feel the first flutters, kicks, rolls, and jabs. The babies are calmed by a mothers heartbeat and voice. It's an amazing bond that you get to expierience, even before you get to touch them, smell them, and relish in everything they do. I put together some pictures of my pregnancy progression so far, as this is the last week of my second trimester.

I cannot wait to meet her. I cannot wait to see if she looks more like me or tj. I cannot wait to hear her squeal at her brother in excitement. I cannot wait to hear her say mama. I cannot wait to study her face and every movement. I cannot wait to be a mom of a son and a daughter.

Hello spring!

March, keep doing what you're doing. This weekend was so lovely. The sun was shining and we spent the entire Sunday playing outside. It felt so good not to dress in layers! Here's a little glimpse into our Sunday:

We started off our early morning with a trip to the car wash to get the winter off my car. Jack was squealing the whole time!

Next stop- Playground! This will soon be Jack's playground for school next year!

Tj let me have a solo trip to target- woohoo! I originally went in for lip gloss but came back with clothes for me, Jack, the baby, and a present for T. Oh, and chalk! So it was back outside to decorate our sidewalk.

Our Land of Nod bedding/pillow/diaper change cover came in so we washed them and put them in their place-- in love!

After that we went for an afternoon walk where Jack pretended to be a ninja turtle the entire time while collecting treasures.

Aaaaand someone was upset to come in for the day! Hopefully the warm weather is here to stay!
